Hearst Television - WBBH-TV (NBC2)
Hearst is one of the nation’s largest global, diversified information, services and media companies. Hearst has been innovating for over a century, leading with purpose, integrity and a culture of care, with a mission to inform audiences and improve lives. In July 2023, Hearst acquired Waterman Broadcasting Corporation, a small American television broadcasting company based in Fort Myers, Florida. Hearst now operates the NBC-affiliate NBC2 (WBBH-TV), and Hearst assumes Waterman Broadcasting’s programming relationship with Montclair Communications, Inc., owner of the ABC-affiliate, ABC7 (WZVN-TV). Together the two stations produce 22 newscasts on a single weekday. NBC2 is Southwest Florida’s number one station.
As a Television News Producer, I create, lead, and organize content to develop high-quality, fast-paced, hour-long newscasts daily. My primary responsibilities are building the newscast, writing all the scripts, and effectively communicating with anchors, field crews, and control room staff. I have covered stories that gain national attention: Hurricane Ian, the Florida insurance crisis, Governor DeSantis's campaign, the death of Gabby Petito, and a gator attack at Naples Zoo. NBC2 (WBBH-TV) won 5 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, including "Overall Excellence" for 2023. Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists awarded NBC2 "2022 Station of the Year."
Below are some headlines and segments I have produced.
